Summer is officially here and we are starting to feel it with the sun shining and the temperature rising! We believe that the land of the midnight sun has by far the best summer and we want you to take full advantage of it! Here are a few activities you can enjoy this year!
See the Glaciers
Book an Alaska "staycation" this summer with your family and go visit the glaciers. You can take a day cruise from nearby Seward or Whittier, or you can take the air and go on a sightseeing tour!
Pedal the Coastal Trail
Fun fact: Anchorage has 135 miles of bike paths all through the city. You must try the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail start from downtown and take off on the sore trail a beautiful 11-mile trek!
Bear Viewing
You might have to hop on a short flight from Anchorage for bear viewing but it will be worth it! Head over to Katmai or Lake Clark national parks to view bears in their natural habitat safely without disturbing them.
Go Whale Watching
Interesting in seeing beluga whales? Take a trip down Turnagain arm and try and spot them. Beluga whales often chase salmon runs just off our coast!
Enjoy the Midnight Sun
If you are new to Alaska and this is your first summer you are in for a treat. Between the end of March to the end of September, we have more daylight than anywhere in the lower 48! This makes our summers exceptional and gives us plenty of sunlight to knock everything off our summer bucket list!
