A great way to get through these crazy times is to get out and enjoy nature! What better way than to enjoy our state’s beautiful scenery through hiking. We have rounded up a few of our favorites.
Symphony & Eagle Lakes:
This hike takes place in Chugach State Park and the hike to the lake is 12 miles round trip. This can be a long day hike!
Rabbit Lake:
You can enter this hike through South Anchorage off Upper Canyon Road or you can access it from McHugh Creek. If you enter off Upper Canyon Road it is an easier, straightforward forward and flatter hike. From McHugh Creek, it is a harder more uphill hike!
Portage Pass:
This is a quick 4-mile round trip hike along Portage Lake where you can see views of Portage Glacier.
Eagle River Nature Center:
There are many hikes you can do at the Eagle River Nature Center. You can choose one based on how long you want your hike to be. Don’t forget to park here it is $5.
Lower Winner Creek:
For this one, you can park at the Hotel Alyeska and can walk to the trailhead. It is a 3-mile hike that connects you to Crow Creek Mine Road.
Happy hiking!
