Fur Rendezvous

Alaska’s largest and oldest winter festival! From the Running of the Reindeer, outhouse races, snowshoe softball and a bunch more of winter festivities, this festival is long-running and celebrates winter in Alaska. Enjoy the carnival and fireworks at Ship Creek on opening day!
Houseless
Location: Anchorage Museum
Date: February 7-April 5
Time: Tues-Sat, 10 am-6 pm; Sun Noon-6pm
Through design, art installations and research from the Portland State University School of Architecture’s Center for Public Interest Design, Houseless shows the potential for addressing homelessness. An exhibition about the eviction crisis in the United States and installations of research on how social needs can be addressed by architecture in communities and how technology and new models can aid in the effort.
Spenard Food Truck Carnival
Location: Koot’s parking lot
Date: Starting March 12th, recurring every Thursday
Time: 11 am-2 pm
Come enjoy some local Anchorage food trucks in the Chilkoot Charlie’s parking lot! This weekly event goes until August.
Iditazoo™
Location: Alaska Zoo
Date: March 14
Time: 12-4 pm
Come to the zoo to meet a musher and his sled dogs! This event is to celebrate the great Alaskan sport of dog mushing where you can learn about the history of the Iditarod®, race through the zoo grounds while playing the checkpoint game and get hands-on with some winter outdoor dog sport equipment! At 2 pm kids can enjoy a craft station and sled dog story-time.
Girls on the Runway
Location: Loussac Library Events Center

Time: 6-8 pm
Girls on the Runway support the Girls on the Run - Southcentral Alaska’s work that empowers and inspires young girls in our community. The fashion show celebrates the arrival of spring and styles for active girls and women. Also at the event, there will be a silent auction, photo booth, complimentary drinks, appetizers, and dessert!
