If you are a local who loves to enjoy the sunny Alaskan summer days or a newcomer to the 49th state we have a line up of stunning lakes to enjoy this season!

Goose Lake Park

Located on the northern edge of UAA campus this 68- acre park features beautiful views of the Chugach Mountains and is a wonderful gathering spot for all ages. This park includes a lake, ball courts, grassy fields, playgrounds, and a place to picnic. You are allowed to kayak, raft and, paddleboard here!

Jewell Lake

This lake is extremely popular and can draw up to 30,000 lake goers each summer, so make sure to practice social distancing if you pay it a visit! You can find a place to BBQ and picnic on site. They have it all from kayaking, swimming to playing beach volleyball, and disc toss. They also have a playground for kiddos and a zip line.

Kincaid - Point Campbell

This beach has gorgeous sand and a million-dollar view that stretches along Anchorage’s southwest coast at Point Campbell in Kincaid Park. Kincaid gets warm enough to lay out and sunbathe. Your kiddos can run down the beach and enjoy beach-combing!

Mirror Lake

Spanning about 150 yards, the beach has easy access to water and lots of space to enjoy your lunch outside and a nice swim. Other recreational activities include paddle boarding, floating, and even fishing.

Coastal Trail West of Fish Creek

This unexpected yet walkable shore lies between the upland and the mudflats that become exposed when Knik Arm’s big tide retreats. This is a popular trail and a great place to enjoy watching the containerships and tug boats in and out of part of Anchorage. If you are lucky you might even see a beluga whale swimming off-shore!
