If you are thinking about selling this spring or summer now is the perfect time to start getting your house ready, especially now that we are spending all of our time in our homes. Some of the smallest changes make the biggest impact! Here is a list of a few things that will help get your home sold fast!
1. Start with decluttering your home. This will be a huge help when it comes time to take pictures of your home. Less is more in this case!
2. Paint! Paint is one of our favorite low-cost things to do to make a huge difference. Think neutral when repainting your walls to sell.
3. Clean. Giving your entire house a deep scrub will go along way. Think of the things you might not always clean, baseboards, walls, windows, exterior, etc.
4. Replace hardware for an inexpensive upgrade. Are your kitchen cabinets outdated? Could a new set of hardware fix that issue?
5. Spray paint doorknobs. Do you have the outdated gold doorknobs throughout your home? Grab a can of matte black spray paint, take the knobs off the doors, give them a light sanding and give them a whole new look!
6. Update your curb appeal. This could mean planting new flowers, picking weeds, painting your front door, sprucing up your mailbox, etc.
7. Order a new welcome mat for your front door
8. Update your outlet and light switch plates for a “new house” feel.
9. Set the stage. Start playing around with different ways you can stage your home for photos and open houses. Rearrange furniture, change décor, add a few plants.
10. Create an outdoor seating area. Buyers love to envision their life in the homes they are looking to buy. Most people love to be able to enjoy a meal outside in the warmer months. This could be a great selling point!
