Here at the Keira Dreher Group, we love family time. Spending time with our family brings us so much joy that each month we want to share a few of our favorite experiences with you!
Let's catch up with Keira | How is September already over?! What a beautiful fall it's been that has lasted so long! I had a difficult adjustment when the leaves started to change as I was NOT ready to give up summer quite yet, but honestly, I love fall and the gorgeous colors and "bite" in the air. We've already had batches of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, fresh apple pie, and homemade caramel in the works. Happy to share any of our family's tried and true recipes if you are interested!
On September 7 we celebrated Jacob's 18th Birthday- he's running cross country for Chugiak right now and doing quite well. I'm also pleased with his progress in his self paced school curriculum. I had my doubts about his busy schedule but he's managing it quite well!
Carter played tennis this fall season! He's never played tennis before and he had a great time and learned a LOT! We are grateful to the coaches who stepped up at the last minute to fill in! Carter is doing all CHS classes (online of course) and whereas he misses being in school in person he's doing well in his classes and learning to manage his time. In fact, I've been so thrilled with his maturity I finally upgraded him from a "flip phone" to his first iPhone (he was so relieved not to have to show up at tennis with an old flip phone!)
Jerry continues to help me immensely with the real estate business, I could not manage without him! He's such a kind and giving person and it's wonderful to have him by my side.
Happy Fall Everyone! - Keira
Now time to catch up with Kelsey | September is an exciting month in the Shirley household as both our kids celebrate their birthdays! Max turned 12 and Mia turned 9! I LOVE birthdays and typically enjoy planning birthday parties. However, this year, we skipped the parties and instead, spoiled the kids with some extra gifts and made them their favorite meals. It turns out, they didn't miss the parties nearly as much as I anticipated they would!
I got a spin bike for my birthday this summer and have been using the Peloton app to take classes every day. To say I am in love is an understatement, I think I am borderline obsessed! :) I used to love working out when I was a stay at home mom and once I jumped into real estate, it took me a few years to figure out how to add working out into my "new" routine. I am having fun, feeling better, and so glad I got this bike!
Nate spent most of September either out hunting or at work. Unfortunately, he didn't get a moose this year and it wasn't from a lack of trying. The kids and I drove out to Eureka to bring Nate a hot pot of chili, restock his cookie supply (he has the biggest sweet tooth of anyone I know), and to camp with him for a night. It was one of the most beautiful landscapes I have seen in Alaska! I somehow forgot to take a photo with the kids there so a landscape photo will have to do. :)
Happy October! - Kelsey
