Considering moving to Eagle River? We have some homes for sale in the area and we absolutely love the Eagle River community and all it has to offer. If you are new to the community and need any more convincing, we hope we can help!

Eagle River is only a fifteen-minute drive from Anchorage and this suburb is a great hub that sits between Wasilla and Anchorage, offering shopping, restaurants, areas of recreation and many opportunities of employment. Eagle River is also connected to the community to the north, Chugiak. There are many benefits that come with being an Eagle River resident that we would love to share with you!

1. Peace and quiet. Eagle River is away from the downtown city scene where the noise and bustle seem to stay. Eagle River residents benefit by living in areas with little to no traffic, minimal noise and instead, beautiful views and chances to see wildlife. The calmness and serenity that residences keep here is almost on purpose.

2. It’s a great place to raise a family. In fact, Eagle River is very geared towards families and wanting it to be a great place to raise children. In Eagle River, there are an array of different schooling options, places to explore and events that are great for all ages. Kids here grow up outdoors! There are so many places to go for outdoor activities and exploring near the Chugach Mountain Range, Kenai Fjords National Park and Preserve and not a far drive to Denali National Park. Hiking, boating, fishing, skiing, snowshoeing, rafting - you name it, Eagle River’s got it!

3. A welcoming and close-knit community. From a great array of local shops and niche businesses, Eagle River thrives on the interaction with others and being good neighbors.4. Gorgeous location. We already mentioned how wonderful the options here were for outdoor activity, but we didn’t get to emphasize how gorgeous Eagle River was on top of it. At the base of the Chugach Mountain Range, Eagle River hosts everything from glaciers, glacial lakes, forests, National Parks, mountain views and chances to see unique wildlife.

 

Here are some places to check out in Eagle River to make you feel welcome and to get a good grasp of what it means to live here.

Nancy Lake Recreation Center - good for hiking, fishing, canoeing and even have picnics.

Wasilla Creek Wetlands Trails - great for kids, easy walking trails that are secluded.

MatSu Visitors Center - take in the views of Pioneer Peak while getting more information on the hiking in the area.

Eagle River Nature Center - a community where you can find guided hikes, live performances, and even educational specialized classes for kids. The Nature Center is all about teaching visitors about the nature surrounding us, how to explore it and also how to preserve its beauty.
